I'm aware that most, if not all, of you have never role played on blogger. Well, I haven't either. XD This is a learning experience for us all. To make the transition easier for those who have come from Invisionfree, proboards, yahoo groups, etc I'm devoting this page to "How to Roleplay Using Blogger." It's really not that hard and once you get the hang of it you'll be able to share your knowledge with others. Awesome right?
So you're interested in joining, but you don't have a clue about how to begin. Follow these steps and you'll be on your way.
- Join Blogger.com. Before you can start roleplaying here you need to have a blogger account. When you sign up for blogger please use an email address that you know the password to. You'll be receiving invitations from this roleplay that'll allow you to post on this site. If you can't access your email you won't get the invitation. You DO NOT need a gmail account to sign up for blogger. You can use yahoo as well.
- Look around: Spend a few minutes learning your way around blogger. It's not very hard to understand, but if you have questions about where to go, how to post things, etc ask them below and staff members will get to you as soon as they can.
- Check the canon list on Hush- Homepage for available characters before you apply.
- Apply to this roleplay. The application is simple and shouldn't look like anything new. Fill it out and email it to hushrpgmod@gmail.com. More information about that can be found here.
- Invitations: After you have been accepted you'll receive three emails from Hush. These emails are invitations. These invitations will allow you to post to HushRPG, HushOOC, and read the HushNewsletter. Accept these invitation using the blogger email you used when you signed up for blogger in step (1).
- Dashboard: When you sign in you'll see your blogger dashboard. This dashboard lists all of the blogs you can now post to or read. After you have accepted all of the invitations you should see the following blogs:
- Hush RPG
- Hush Newsletter
- Hush OOC
- Image of one of hush's blogs on your dashboard here
- Click on View Blog to view the blog, the blue New Post button to post to that blog, Edit post to see all of your posts and edit the ones you've posted. Note: You will see every post to the blog, but you will only be able to edit your own. Settings allow you to modify how you will see the blog etc.
- You can view your dashboard anytime you like. If you're viewing a blog, your dashboard link will be in the top right hand corner of the screen. Click this and it'll take you back to your dashboard.
Role Playing: Posting
- Now that you have set up everything you need you can begin role playing. You are encouraged to read threads by other members, but we know things can get a bit hectic.
- To make your first post either click on new post (for the blog you want to post to). This will take you to a posting screen. Type up your post here.
- We have a strict posting format here at Hush. Please follow it.
- All posts must have a header. This will be the only viewable section of your post. The actual post will be hidden behind a cut. The yellow box on this image is the button you use to make a cut. Type your header first, press that button to make a cut and then type up your post. The cut will make a link that says Read More.
- You will only need one account for all of your characters. If you want to distinguish your character's post from others you are encouraged to post a 100x100 picture of them with your header. You can add a photograph by pressing the image icon. That is labeled as the purple box in the image linked above.
- Before you Publish your post add the appropriate labels to it. Labels are in the red box in the image linked above. Labels have already been created for your use. These labels include students, locations, & dates View the labels and select the appropriate ones for your post. I.e If you're writing for James Potter and your post took place on the quidditch pitch on September 1, choose the labels September 1, Student: James Potter & Quidditch Pitch.
- These labels allow other members to find your posts in the future. This also helps keep things organized.
- If your student/teacher etc isn't listed in the labels DO NOT add them yourself. Bring it to the admin's attention and they will be added.
- Preview your post and then publish it to the group. If you need to edit your post for any reason click on the tiny pencil on the bottom of the post or visit your dashboard and edit your post that way.
Who: Who is in the thread. List these people here. You must include a label for each of them
When: The Date
Where: Where the thread took place
What: What the thread is about. If you don't know when you start it, write it in when you are done.
Rating: PG-13, R, Mature
Notes: Anything that you want members to know. This is optional

Replying to a thread:
- To reply to someone's thread you comment on it. Comments will go one after the other.
- You can delete a comment if you need to edit it, but you can not edit it after the next person has posted.
- You can not post images to comments, so please clearly state which character you are writing for in your post.
